“2003 was the year we said goodbye to the beautiful Cape and exchanged it for the red soil of the Eastern Free State beneath our feet. My husband, Frikkie, our three beautiful children – Derick, then 13, Anne-Retha, 12, and our youngest, Joshua, a mere 3 – and I set out to make Ladybrand, right on the Lesotho border, our new home.

“Do what you know, do what you love.” My husband’s true words. Words upon which Ladybrand Properties was built, contract by contract and quite literally, brick by brick. We came from a finance background at Saambou Bank. We loved looking at houses and sharing ideas about the potential each one held and, of course, above all else, family.

And so, Ladybrand Properties was born in 2008, out of the three chosen paths of our lives: finance, houses and family. Over the years, we have become a close-knit team. Like any business, we have faced our challenges, but we came out stronger, wiser and more determined.

While the main focus of Ladybrand Properties is real estate, whether you’re buying or renting, we never lose sight of the fact that every house, apartment or piece of land is a new beginning for a family or individual to build their future, just as we once did.
